University of Copenhagen to Reorganize Faculties From 2028
The University of Copenhagen will merge and split faculties starting in 2028, though degree programs will remain unchanged.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /The University of Copenhagen will merge and split several faculties starting in 2028. Most degree programs and course content will remain unchanged for current students. According to the Copenhagen Post, the school will retain six faculties in total.
On January 1, 2028, Theology and Humanities will merge into one faculty. Law and Social Sciences will also combine on the same date. On January 1, 2029, Health Sciences will split into two new faculties. The Faculty of Science will also split into two separate units.
Rector David Dreyer Lassen noted differing growth among faculties over fifteen years. He said these differences challenge the leadership and cohesion of the university. The institution was founded in 1479 with four original faculties.
