The Public Health Agency of Sweden reported the cases on August 19. All cases connect to the Urkult folk festival held in late July and early August. Regional health teams are conducting contact tracing to limit the spread.
Measles outbreaks remain rare in Sweden. National childhood vaccination coverage is around 95 percent. Measles causes fever, respiratory problems, and skin rashes.
