Sailing around the Cape of Good Hope takes around 50 days.
Sea Legend tested the Arctic passage last October in a 20-day voyage.
Company officials say low Arctic temperatures suit goods like batteries and solar panels.
However, ships can only use this route during the warm summer months.
Ice melting in the Arctic opened up these potential new trade lanes.
Recent conflicts in the Middle East have disrupted traditional shipping through key straits.
