Yellow Health Cards Remain Valid in Eastern Denmark Merger
Residents in Copenhagen and Eastern Denmark do not need to replace their yellow health cards during the upcoming regional merger.

Capital Region and Region Zealand will merge at the turn of the year. The new administrative area will be Region Eastern Denmark.
This decision affects 2.8 million residents across the new region. The regional council decided not to issue new cards immediately.
This move saves the region 30.2 million Danish kroner. Physical cards will be replaced gradually over up to five years.
