/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Around 10,000 students will protest in central Copenhagen tomorrow against proposed education cuts. The rally will affect city traffic near Copenhagen City Hall and Christiansborg Palace. Organizers say students will gather at City Hall Square at 12:30 pm. The crowd will then march together toward Christiansborg Slotsplads.
About 30,000 students from 40 high schools across Denmark will also join strikes. Some students will demonstrate locally while others travel to Copenhagen. The Danish High School Students Association announced the rally details in a statement.
Students are protesting planned cuts to state educational grants. The government wants to stop payments for some students living with parents. Ministers also propose tougher rules for graduate unemployment benefits.
Graduates would need eight months of work during their studies to qualify. This work experience must happen within the final 24 months of study. Commuters in central Copenhagen should expect transit delays during the march. National broadcaster DR reported these protest plans.
