Smukfest Ticket Sales Suffer System Glitch As 80,000 Queue Online

Buying tickets for Denmark's popular Smukfest music festival became difficult due to technical glitches. More than 80,000 people joined the online queue when sales opened.

Ticket sales started at 10 a.m. By 10:49 a.m., the online queue exceeded 80,000 buyers. The estimated waiting time was over one hour. Some users saw error messages after reaching the purchase page.

Smukfest acknowledged the issue on Facebook around 10:30 a.m. Organizers stated that sales were running slowly due to a system error. They advised affected users to stay on the page and refresh their browser. Leaving the browser was discouraged.

Despite the glitches, single-day tickets for Friday sold out by 10:45 a.m. Smukfest will take place in the beech forest in Skanderborg from August 1 to 8 next year. Organizers have not yet announced any performers. Last year, full-festival passes sold out in under 90 minutes, according to CPH Post.
