The Danish Road Directorate announced the changes for 2027 and 2028.
The bridge connects Jutland and Funen across Denmark.
It carries about 80,000 vehicles every day.
This roadwork will affect commuters and travellers driving across the country.
Preparations start in late 2026 and last a few months.
Main work will run from April through October in 2027 and 2028.
Crews will work on the eastbound side in 2027.
They will move to the westbound side in 2028.
Workers will replace waterproofing and road surfacing on the bridge deck.
They will also replace expansion joints.
Project manager Robin Højen Madsen said the plan keeps traffic moving.
Three narrow lanes remain open per direction during weekday daytime hours.
At least two narrow lanes stay open during evenings, nights, and weekends.
The project will extend the lifespan of the bridge.
New joints will reduce traffic noise for nearby residents.
The bridge opened in 1970.
It is 1,700 meters long and 31.2 meters wide.
The Old Little Belt Bridge opened in May 1935.
It remains in use for cars and trains.
