/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /A new Danish app helps people get aid when they feel unsafe walking home. The app is called SafeCircle. It is now available in English for international residents in Denmark. CPH Post reports that users can alert family, friends, and nearby members.
Users verify their identity using MitID before using the service. This ensures all helpers on the network are verified. If you feel followed or threatened, you can press the alarm button. The app sends an alert to other users within two kilometers. Nearby users can see your exact location on a map if they accept.
When activated, your phone automatically records sound and video. The files upload directly to a safe server. This creates evidence if a crime occurs. Other users cannot watch the video live due to privacy rules. You can stop the alarm using a personal PIN code.
SafeCircle was created by Lennart Nielsen, Nanna Liv Nielsen, and Elliot Gawn. The service is free for now on Apple and Android phones. The creators plan to charge 9 Danish kroner per month starting next year. The app is designed for anyone aged 15 and older.
