/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark has resumed processing suspended citizenship applications. Immigration authorities also restarted permanent residence and family reunification cases. These cases were paused on September 7 due to criminal record errors. The Ministry of Immigration and Integration announced the decision in a press release. The National Police concluded that database errors had very limited impact. CPH Post reported the update.
In June, authorities discovered that some criminal records were deleted incorrectly. National Police Commissioner Lasse Boje informed politicians about the issue in September. Police restored 43 decisions that were removed too early during their review. The errors also temporarily delayed child protection certificates. Police reopened applications for those certificates on September 18.
The ministry did not state how many total applications were affected. Police will check if errors impacted decisions by other public authorities. They will work with relevant offices to handle any affected cases.
