Norwegian Air Cuts 123 Copenhagen Airport Jobs

Norwegian Air is laying off 123 staff at Copenhagen Airport starting in January 2027. Flight schedules from the Danish capital will remain unchanged despite the cuts.

The redundancies affect 53 pilots and 70 cabin crew members. Most staff will leave at the end of January 2027. The remaining staff will leave ten months later.

Danish news site Finans first reported the official layoff confirmation. Norwegian Denmark manager Sara Neergaard stated that the dismissals are necessary.

The airline will reduce its Copenhagen fleet from 16 to 14 planes during summer. Norwegian needs 16 aircraft in summer but only 10 in winter.

Spain-based aircraft will operate some Copenhagen summer routes instead. Norwegian served 77 destinations from Copenhagen last year with a 15 percent passenger share.
