/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /You can soon book four types of GP appointments in Denmark. A new four-year deal aims to improve access to medical care.
The agreement takes effect at the start of the new year. Doctors will offer short, regular, long, and complex consultations.
This lets doctors address multiple health concerns during one visit. Clinics treating patients with greater medical needs will receive higher payments.
Currently, clinics receive equal pay per patient regardless of health status. The change supports practices in areas with fewer doctors.
General practitioners will also receive separate payments for continuing education. This training helps doctors treat more conditions locally.
The deal was reached between doctor group PLO and regional body RLTN. Total funding reaches 4.5 billion Danish kroner over four years. By 2030, annual funding will be 1.7 billion Danish kroner higher than today.
