/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Members of Magasin's Goodie loyalty program face potential phishing scams following a data breach. Danish department store chain Magasin confirmed that unauthorized people accessed its computer systems.
The breach exposed customer names, addresses, and purchase history. However, Magasin stressed that credit card information remains safe. The company reported the incident in an email to Danish broadcaster DR.
Magasin reported the breach to the police and Datatilsynet, the Danish Data Protection Agency. External experts are helping the store handle the incident and restore system access.
Scammers could use the stolen data to create believable phishing messages. These fake emails often try to steal MitID login details. MitID is Denmark's official digital ID system for banking and public services.
This incident follows a similar breach at British retailer Asos a few weeks ago. In that case, an intruder accessed customer contact details through an employee account. Asos also alerted the police and warned shoppers about potential impersonators.
