Former Novo Nordisk chief executive Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen is taking over as board chairman at Danish pharmaceutical firm Lundbeck.

Lundbeck announced the news in a stock exchange statement on Sunday evening. The news was first reported by the media outlet Finans.
The current board chairman Dorothea Wenzel decided to step down. Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen will join the board as an observer on November 10. He will stay in that role until shareholders formally elect him.
