Animal Protection Denmark reported an unusually busy summer at its 1812 dispatch center.
The emergency service responded to a record average of 154 calls per day in June and July.
In total, the service handled 9,444 dispatches across those two months.
This was 622 more dispatches than during the same months last year.
Stray and distressed cats represented the largest group of animals assisted.
