However, total household bills will not rise compared to last year.
This is because Denmark lowered its electricity tax to the EU minimum rate.
Energy company OK reported the standard monthly average prices across Denmark.
East of the Great Belt, raw power averaged 1.07 DKK per kilowatt-hour.
West of the Great Belt, the average reached 1.05 DKK per kilowatt-hour.
Last September, prices averaged 0.62 DKK east and 0.54 DKK west.
Calm weather and limited sunshine reduced wind and solar power generation.
High natural gas costs driven by geopolitical unrest also pushed prices up.
Prices changed dramatically throughout the month.
On September 14, power costs briefly spiked above 5 DKK per kilowatt-hour.
Conversely, several weekend hours saw prices drop near zero.
Troels Skipper from OK expects more price swings this winter.
Monitoring hourly power rates can help residents schedule heavy electricity use.
The story was reported by the Copenhagen Post based on OK data.
