/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Drivers in Denmark face a growing risk of hitting deer on the roads. A record 8,739 collisions were registered in the first nine months of this year. That is up from 7,994 during the same period last year. This marks the fourth consecutive year with record numbers. The figures come from a press release by Dyrenes Beskyttelse.
Hitting a deer can be violent and dangerous for drivers. It can also cause serious harm to the animal. Biologist Peter Gravlund from Dyrenes Beskyttelse warned about these dangers. Autumn brings an even higher risk of accidents involving deer. Deer are most active during the hours around sunrise and sunset. Drivers should take extra care when traveling during these peak times.
