/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Your personal data in Denmark may have been exposed in a massive security breach. A hacker accessed nearly 8.75 million CPR numbers using an artificial intelligence program. The stolen material includes names, addresses, and personal identification numbers. Danish authorities confirmed unauthorized access took place over ten days in September.
The hacker entered the national CPR register through a company called Pays. The breach was possible because of weak password security. At least three accounts used the password 123456. Even the main administrator account used this simple password. The suspected hacker told the newspaper Politiken that AI wrote the code. Two experts checked the code and confirmed AI created it.
The hacker claims they do not intend to sell or publish your data. An error in the AI code caused the program to miss certain birth years. It searched for people born in 1877 instead of 1977. Therefore, data for people born in 1977 was not included in the leak. The director of Pays did not comment on the breach.
