/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Danish upper secondary students are scoring lower in written Danish exams. The Education Ministry released the latest national exam results on Thursday. The data shows a drop in average grades across high school programs.
At general high schools, known as stx, top-level Danish grades fell significantly. The average score for A-level Danish dropped from 6.8 in 2018 to 6.2 in 2026. Grades declined compared to last year and over recent years.
Education Minister Magnus Heunicke shared his deep concern about the falling grades. He warned about the growing influence of artificial intelligence in schools. AI tools have rapidly changed how students complete their daily schoolwork.
Heunicke noted that AI might become a shortcut for students. Skipping writing, analyzing, and self-expression risks reducing overall learning. In September, PISA reports also showed falling reading, math, and science scores among 15-year-olds.
