Silkeborg Named First Host City for Royal Run 2027
Silkeborg will host the Royal Run for the first time in 2027 as Denmark begins announcing next edition's host cities.

The National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark announced the choice.
Silkeborg is the first of five host cities for the 2027 event.
Organisers will name a new host city every day this week.
Silkeborg Mayor Helle Gade welcomed the announcement.
She highlighted the local hilly landscapes and lakes.
The city promotes itself as Denmark's Outdoor Capital.
Participants will run through the unique nature and city center.
The Royal Run features three official distances.
Runners can choose 1.6 kilometres, five kilometres, or ten kilometres.
The event began in 2018 for the Crown Prince's 50th birthday.
It takes place every year on Whit Monday.
Last year saw a record 112,450 participants.
Host cities for 2026 include Copenhagen and Helsingør.
