/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /A railway signal cabin fire near Aarup causes widespread train disruptions across Denmark. Travelers between Copenhagen and Jutland face major train delays and cancellations on Friday.
The fire occurred in a technical relay building on Funen. Banedanmark area manager Michael Dyrborg told Ritzau that almost everything inside burned. Signal faults now affect the line between Middelfart and Odense. Repairs could take several weeks to complete. Banedanmark has not stated when normal services will fully return.
According to DSB, all trains between Fredericia and Copenhagen face delays. Regional trains between Odense and Fredericia are canceled. Intercity trains from Copenhagen via Roskilde only run as far as Odense. DSB deployed replacement buses between Fredericia and Odense. P4 Trafik reported six buses running on that route.
Passengers can still use other operating trains across Zealand, Funen, and Jutland. DSB staff are available at Odense and Fredericia stations to guide travelers. Both Banedanmark and DSB urge passengers to check Rejseplanen for real-time travel updates.
