/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Families in Denmark with school children may soon see lower daily education costs. The Red-Green Alliance wants to allocate 100 million Danish kroner annually for public schools. This proposal aims to eliminate extra charges for school camps and lunches. Public education in Denmark is officially free for all residents. However, parents often pay extra for special activities and meals.
The political party plans to help vulnerable families first. Finance spokesperson Victoria Velasquez highlighted the importance of free education. The party will bring this demand to the 2027 budget talks. Funding would come from a reserve of 900 million Danish kroner. This reserve is set aside for budget agreement negotiations.
The party has not decided how to distribute the funds. Money could go directly to families or through local schools. Another option is targeting 100 schools with low academic results. The demand is important to the party, but not a dealbreaker. They also seek free youth transport and free selected dental care.
