Randers Court Acquits Danish Man Over Satirical Drawing
A court in Denmark ruled that sharing a satirical drawing on Facebook was not a hate crime under the penal code.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /A court in Denmark acquitted a man who shared a satirical drawing on Facebook. Retten i Randers decided the post was not a hate crime. The man shared the image in 2020. The drawing contained a derogatory word targeting Jewish people.
The defendant admitted to sharing the post containing the drawing. He explained the drawing came from a satirical Norwegian television show. Danish newspaper Politiken has published the same drawing several times before.
Prosecutors charged the man under Section 266b of the Danish Penal Code. This section is known as the racism clause. The court found that sharing the drawing did not violate this law.
