Pure Petrol Cars Drop Below Half of Denmark's Fleet
Pure petrol cars now make up less than half of Denmark's car fleet, while electric vehicles reach 24.3 percent.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Pure petrol cars now make up under half of all cars in Denmark. Their share has dropped to 49.98 percent of the car fleet. In 2020, pure petrol cars accounted for 65 percent of cars. These figures come from a press release by Mobility Denmark.
Pure petrol cars refer only to vehicles powered solely by petrol. This definition excludes hybrids, mild hybrids, and plug-in hybrids. Petrol remains the single most common fuel type in Denmark. However, electric cars are growing very rapidly.
Electric vehicles now make up 24.3 percent of the car fleet. Lower registration taxes have made electric cars cheaper for buyers. Mobility Denmark highlights tax exemptions as the main growth driver.
