Novo Nordisk gets global rights for an experimental weight-loss drug outside Greater China.
The licensing agreement is worth up to 2.6 billion US dollars.
Under the agreement, Hengrui licenses its once-weekly oral weight-management drug named HRS-1596.
Novo Nordisk will handle development and sales in all regions outside Greater China.
This deal showcases strong commercial and scientific ties between Scandinavia and China.
According to Anadolu Agency, the contract total reaches up to 2.6 billion US dollars.
