Research firms Epinion and Als Research prepared the study. They conducted the research for the Danish Ministry of Children and Education. The report shows physical violence occurred between students in over 50 percent of classes.
Physical fights were most common in early primary school grades. The findings have sparked calls for new preventative measures across Denmark. Local authorities are reviewing classroom safety and school environment standards. Danish news agency Ritzau and The Copenhagen Post first reported the study results.
