/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Lower-income workers in Denmark may soon get tax cuts. Four Danish opposition parties want broader tax cuts. They demand cuts for people earning under 58,000 Danish kroner a month. They say they will reject the government's tax plan without these cuts.
The government wants to cut taxes for higher earners. Its current plan removes top-top and intermediate income taxes. These cuts benefit people earning over 58,000 Danish kroner a month. The government also plans to cut corporate tax starting in 2030.
Opposition leaders argue that lower-paid workers need tax relief too. Conservative leader Mona Juul said shop assistants and electricians deserve tax cuts. Denmark Democrats leader Inger Støjberg highlighted rising food and fuel costs.
The parties will meet Minister for Taxation and Growth Jakob Engel-Schmidt later this week. The government needs opposition votes to pass its tax plan. Left-wing parties are not expected to support the current proposals.
