/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Nordic telecom giant Nokia will close almost all mainland China operational sites by 2026. This move highlights a major shift in Nordic multinational tech strategy in Asia.
The Finnish company confirmed it is reducing its business operations across mainland China. It wants to align its regional business with its global operating model. Nokia stated that its Chinese market revenues declined steadily in recent years.
The company has not yet shared exact numbers of affected offices or workers. Earlier this year, Nokia announced a broader restructuring of its Chinese operations. Its latest financial report details a two-year integration plan for China. Nokia expects integration charges to reach 350 million euros by late 2026.
ScandAsia reported the news, citing Reuters and the South China Morning Post. Nokia remains active in other parts of the Asia-Pacific region today. These places include Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, and South Korea.
The company maintained its overall financial guidance for the year 2026. It expects comparable operating profit between 2.1 billion and 2.6 billion euros.
