New Danish Citizens Celebrated at Christiansborg Parliament
Around 2,000 new Danish citizens gathered at Christiansborg Palace on Sunday for the annual Citizenship Day celebration.

The Speaker of Parliament, Søren Gade, opened the event. He said citizenship brings both rights and responsibilities. New citizens have a duty to engage and contribute to society.
The celebration highlights the final step in the Danish naturalisation process. Thousands of applicants apply for citizenship each year, according to The Copenhagen Post.
