More Late Abortions Reported in Denmark After New Limits
Denmark recorded 537 abortions after the 12th gestational week following new health rules.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Pregnant women in Denmark are getting more abortions later in pregnancy under new rules. Denmark raised the limit for free abortion to week 18 on June 1, 2025. The previous rule allowed free abortion only up to the 12th gestational week.
Preliminary data from the Danish Health Data Authority shows the clear shift. From June 2025 to May 2026, doctors performed 537 abortions after week 12. This report was published by The Copenhagen Post.
