MobilePay opens payment app to children aged seven

Parents in Denmark can now set up MobilePay accounts for children as young as seven. MobilePay has launched a new restricted version of its app for young users. This allows young children to make digital payments under parental supervision. Parents can monitor spending directly from their own app. They can also control which app features the child can access.

Setting up an account requires proof of guardianship. Parents must submit registry records from Borger.dk to verify their legal status. Any other legal guardian must also approve the account setup. According to The Copenhagen Post, the new service helps families teach digital money habits early.
