Medieval Monastery Discovered Under Planned Car Park in Roskilde
Archaeologists have found 13th-century convent remains beneath Roskilde Bypark, where a new parking garage was planned.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Roskilde planned to build a new parking garage under Roskilde Bypark. However, archaeologists recently discovered the remains of a medieval monastery underground.

A georadar survey showed that parts of the 13th-century Sankt Clara Convent still exist. The Romu museum and the National Museum conducted the research together. Experts previously believed that nothing of the convent survived.
TV 2 Kosmopol first reported the discovery. The site is in Roskilde, a popular day-trip destination near Copenhagen.
