Lidl to renovate all Danish stores in major upgrade
Lidl is spending over 100 million DKK to redesign all its Danish supermarkets.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Lidl shoppers in Denmark will soon see upgraded stores across the country. The supermarket chain is investing more than 100 million Danish kroner in renovations. Individual stores will close completely while renovation work takes place. The new concept gives more shelf space to products and makes shopping easier.
The German-owned chain operates over 170 stores across Denmark. It aims to renovate every location within the next two to four years. Lidl opened its first Danish store in 2005. The company also plans to expand to more than 200 Danish stores.
Lidl tested the redesign in several stores before launching it officially. The first renovated store opened in Holbæk on September 27. Mads T. Nielsen is Lidl Denmark development director. He said customers reacted positively to the new layout. More upgraded stores will open in the coming months.
