Lidl remains Denmark's cheapest supermarket in latest price comparison
Lidl has won the title of Denmark's cheapest supermarket for the fourth consecutive month, according to new data from price-comparison service Madprisluppen.

This conclusion comes from the price-comparison service Madprisluppen. The service compared grocery costs across 12 different supermarket chains.
The most expensive chain in the study is Meny. A standard shopping basket at Meny costs 2,519 Danish kroner. The price gap between the cheapest and most expensive store is 23 percent. Rema 1000 finished second overall. The online supermarket Nemlig.com took third place. Netto came in fourth place after a small price increase.
Madprisluppen compared around 100 products across eight different categories. These categories include meat, fish, dairy, bread, and drinks. Lidl offered the lowest prices in seven out of eight categories. Overall grocery prices stayed relatively stable compared to July. Meat and fish became cheaper this month. However, sweets, snacks, ice cream, and drinks became more expensive.
Føtex made the biggest price adjustment. Its basket price fell from 2,319 kroner in July to 2,291 kroner in August. Føtex jumped from 10th place to 7th place in one month. Both Føtex and Bilka recently added new budget options to their stock. The Local reported these latest comparison findings.
