/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark faces a growing shortage of school teachers and educators. The Lego Foundation is investing 200 million Danish kroner over five years to help. This investment aims to improve education quality across the country.
The funds expand a partnership with Danske Professionshøjskoler. This association represents Denmark’s six university colleges. The colleges will build an action plan to boost student enrollment. They also want to keep trained graduates in the profession.
Foundation CEO Sidsel Marie Kristensen said colleges know best how to fix these issues. The foundation pointed to falling student performance and teacher shortages. Recent OECD data confirms Denmark’s ongoing teacher shortage. Latest PISA test scores also showed historically low results for Danish students.
This initiative continues a partnership that started in 2018. Total foundation support for teacher training has reached 565 million Danish kroner. The Lego Foundation owns 25 percent of the Lego Group. (Source: cphpost.dk)
