Greater Copenhagen Light Rail Opens Full Line to Lundtofte
The Greater Copenhagen Light Rail has opened its complete 29-station route, offering easier travel across suburban work and study hubs like DTU.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Travel across Greater Copenhagen just got easier for commuters and students. The Greater Copenhagen Light Rail has officially opened its full 29-station route. The line now stretches north all the way to Lundtofte Station. It connects six S-train lines across the metropolitan area. This connects major suburban job hubs and schools like the Technical University of Denmark.
Around 50,000 people rode the new light rail for free on opening Saturday. The free rides were offered to celebrate the official launch. The system opened its first 12 southernmost stations in autumn 2025. The final 17 stations were added to the line on Saturday. The full route now runs continuously from Ishøj to Lundtofte.
