European Union Keeps Schengen 90-Day Travel Limit Unchanged

Non-EU people in Denmark and Sweden must count their European travel days. EU teams confirmed on September 1, 2026, that stay rules will not change. Non-EU visitors can only stay for 90 days in any 180-day window.

Mobile staff had fought for extra time. However, EU leaders said the limit applies to all non-EU people. A new IT Entry/Exit System, or EES, will log borders across 29 nations.

This new system logs border checks but gives no extra days. Chinese students, workers, and guest family must count short trips well. Late exits will cause quick flags at border checks across Europe. (Source: European Western Balkans)
