/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Chinese business owners in Denmark and Sweden face new trade duties on imported waterproofing fabrics. The European Commission set final anti-dumping tariffs on Chinese PET Spunbond imports. The duties range from 39.8% to 48.1%.
These tariffs take effect on October 31, 2026. They will remain in place for five years. Provisional duties between 45.6% and 50% applied since May 2026.
An official EU probe found that dumped Chinese imports hurt local producers. Affected EU manufacturers are based in Germany, Italy, and France. The total EU market for this fabric is 200 million euros.
PET Spunbond is a non-woven fabric made from polyester filaments. Builders use it as a carrier for waterproofing on roofs. Local importers, forwarders, and construction businesses must now adjust costs and check customs documents.
