/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Online shopping from non-EU platforms will soon cost more for EU residents. The European Commission announced a new handling fee of 2 euros per item. This fee takes effect on November 1, 2026.
The surcharge applies to direct shipping sellers like Temu, Shein, and AliExpress. The fee is charged per distinct item type rather than per package. Buying multiple different products in one order will multiply the extra charges.
This 2 euros handling fee adds onto a 3 euros customs duty introduced in July. Together, these rules will raise prices on small daily imports. Draft details of the plan were published by Tax at Hand.
