/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark and four EU allies plan to send rejected asylum seekers outside the bloc.
This move reflects a strict shift in Nordic and European border controls.
Danish Immigration Minister Morten Bødskov hosted talks in Copenhagen on Friday.
Officials from Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Greece attended the meeting.
The five nations want to build deportation hubs in non-EU partner countries.
Denmark expects to transfer the first migrants to a partner nation by late 2027.
Minister Bødskov said the group is closer than ever to a final deal.
However, officials have not named any partner countries yet.
The European Parliament approved new migration rules in June to speed up deportations.
These rules allow member states to set up processing centers abroad.
In July, the Council of Europe warned about human rights risks in third countries.
The rights group warned of potential ill-treatment and arbitrary detention.
This policy shift reflects broader border control changes across the Nordic region.
