/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /District heating bills across Denmark will increase next year due to rising energy costs. TV2 reports that ten heating companies already announced price hikes between six and ten percent.
District heating is common in Danish cities. A central plant heats water and pipes it directly into homes. These plants rely on electricity, biofuels, gas, and oil. High energy prices automatically push up heating expenses for households.
Some local areas face even larger increases. In Præstø, the local heating company warned of a forty percent price hike. Company chair Morten Møller Christensen said capacity shortages forced them back to gas.
Many district heating providers have not yet released their rates for 2027. More companies across Denmark may announce price increases in the coming months.
