/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark has officially launched its 2026 Christmas seal at Copenhagen City Hall. The new design highlights friendship and community spirit during the holiday season. It features 46 children holding hands in a colourful graphic style. The title of this edition is 'The best gifts cannot be wrapped.' This tradition offers foreign residents a great window into Danish holiday charity culture.
Artist Martin Jørgensen created this year's decorative seal design. He previously worked in advertising. The foundation selected him for his warm and humorous graphic style. Jørgensen made children the main focus of the artwork. He wants to show the supportive bonds built at Christmas seal homes.
Christmas seals are special stamps sold every year before Christmas. They raise funds for five Christmas seal homes across Denmark. These homes help up to 1,000 children each year. The children suffer from bullying, loneliness, or low self-esteem. Sales cover about five percent of the homes' daily operating expenses. Private individuals, companies, and foundations cover almost all other costs.
Queen Mary has served as patron of the charity since 2004. Copenhagen postmaster Einar Holbøll first proposed the seal idea in 1904. This year's release marks the 123rd edition of the seal. According to the Copenhagen Post, the tradition continues to strengthen local communities.
