/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark will switch to winter time on Sunday, October 25th. Clocks will turn back one hour from 3am to 2am. This change gives everyone an extra hour of sleep on Sunday. However, afternoons will become much darker very quickly.
Sunsets will begin at 4:43pm on Sunday afternoon. Daylight will shorten further until mid-December. By then, dusk will arrive shortly after 3:30pm. Winter time will remain in place until March 28th. On that date, clocks will move forward again for summer time.
Denmark first used Daylight Saving Time in 1916 during World War I. The country brought it back during World War II until 1948. It returned permanently in 1980 to save energy during oil crises. The system also synchronized Denmark with neighboring European countries. This story was originally reported by The Local.
