/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /A new indoor pickleball arena opens in Copenhagen on Saturday, October 17. The venue offers six new courts for this popular sport. Danske Pickleballers built the courts inside Tunnel Arena in Nordhavn. The building once produced tunnel elements for the Øresund link in the 1990s. Now it serves as a central hub for pickleball players.
The opening event runs from 11:00 to 20:00 at Oceanvej 1. Entry costs 25 Danish kroner and includes equipment. Beginners can join coaches for free lessons starting at 13:45. Top players will play an exhibition match at 16:30. A social tournament with a DJ starts at 17:15.
Joachim Litman started the club after discovering pickleball in New York. High padel court prices in America led him to the sport. He liked how easily people of all ages could play together. He founded the club with his friends Mathias and Lucas.
The group now has over 100 members. Sessions take place in both Danish and English. The club hopes to welcome all newcomers this winter. According to CPH Post, the arena aims to be a social hub.
