Denmark's top museums open new exhibitions for the autumn season
Major Danish museums are launching new art and history shows to brighten up the dark autumn days.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Danish museums are opening major new exhibitions this autumn across Copenhagen and nearby cities. These indoor cultural options offer great weekend activities as grey weather arrives.
In Copenhagen, the National Gallery features immersive works by four artist duos. Thorvaldsens Museum showcases private 19th-century paintings in its Life, Longing & Landscape show. Nearby, the Design Museum hosts a colourful exhibition by designer Henrik Vibskov. Glyptoteket presents its largest ever ancient history show on Roman Empire fashion. The War Museum opens an exhibition about the SIRIUS dog sledge patrol in Greenland. Kunsthal Charlottenborg displays three modern art shows until February 21st.
Short train rides from Copenhagen lead to more cultural highlights. Louisiana Museum in Humlebæk presents surrealist works by Remedios Varo. It also opens a Tracey Emin exhibition on October 8th. Museum Ordrupgaard displays Finnish paintings and modern furniture design. ARKEN in Ishøj shows sci-fi digital art by Ann Lislegaard. Further away in Aarhus, ARoS features modern art and German history. Moesgaard Museum opens a Mayan civilisation exhibition on October 9th. The Local reported these autumn gallery updates.
