Denmark Proposes Abolishing Middle Income Tax Bracket

Denmark plans to abolish its middle income tax bracket in 2027. The proposal comes from the Danish government. This reform aims to lower personal income tax for many workers in Denmark.

The change targets the 7.5 percent middle tax bracket. About 619,000 workers could benefit from this tax cut. It applies to annual earnings between 641,200 and 777,900 Danish kroner. Eligible workers could save up to 7,200 Danish kroner each year.

Tax policy is a key topic before the prime minister election on March 24th. Social Democratic Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen faces Liberal leader Troels Lund Poulsen.
