Denmark Leads NATO Exercise in Greenland
Denmark will lead 11 NATO nations in the Arctic Shield military drill in Greenland this September.

/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark is leading a major NATO defense exercise in Greenland this September. This exercise highlights growing Nordic defense cooperation in the Arctic region.
The military drill is named Arctic Shield. It runs from September 7 to September 18, 2026. Four hundred soldiers will join the operation in Greenland. Eleven NATO member states are taking part in this event.
Participating countries include Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Canada. Troops will focus on defense operations in cold weather conditions. They will also practice maritime maneuvers across the region. Drone integration is another key part of the training.
