/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Foreign residents in Denmark must wait longer for new citizenship screening rules.
The government expert committee has delayed its recommendations until mid-March.
Chairman Henrik Thomassen cited the scope and complexity of the work.
The committee was set up to study anti-democracy screening options.
It was originally expected to finish around the turn of the year.
A current citizenship bill includes 2,055 foreign applicants.
Parliament postponed this bill earlier this year due to the general election.
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen called the election after the first reading.
Danish politicians are debating whether these applicants hold anti-democratic views.
The Danish People's Party questioned a candidate over a past Facebook post.
Liberal Alliance wants to interview another candidate over alleged Hamas support.
Despite these debates, the government will submit the bill before screening starts.
Danish parliament usually passes citizenship bills twice a year.
The expert group will complete its final report in March next year.
