/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark's preliminary tax assessments for 2027 will open on Tuesday, November 24. This opening date is two weeks later than usual.
Around 5.5 million taxpayers can review their expected income and tax deductions on that date. The Danish Tax Agency (Skattestyrelsen) announced the schedule change. In Danish, the assessment is called forskudsopgørelsen. It shows your expected income, tax deductions, and tax payments for the coming year. Updating your details promptly reduces the risk of getting an unexpected tax bill later.
The delay allows the Danish Parliament (Folketing) to consider proposed changes to tax deductions in November. These proposals include deductions for exercise and music lessons. They also include higher employment deductions for seniors and increased standard deductions for childminders. Ulrick Junge is deputy director at the Danish Tax Agency. He explained that the agency postponed the opening so it could include these updated deductions directly in the system.
Junge advised taxpayers to check their details carefully after changing jobs or getting pay raises. Changes in interest payments also require careful review. Preliminary assessments use financial data from previous years. Therefore, recent personal financial changes might not appear automatically. Last year, about 800,000 taxpayers owed additional tax. They owed an average of 9,850 Danish kroner each, totaling roughly 7.9 billion Danish kroner. The agency will provide further guidance when assessments open in November.
