Danish Robotics Giant Files Lawsuit Against Chinese Competitor in Copenhagen

A major robotics lawsuit in Copenhagen could impact European high-tech markets. Danish firm Teradyne Robotics filed a patent case against Chinese competitor JAKA. The case was submitted to the Unified Patent Court division in Copenhagen. It targets a German subsidiary of Chinese robot maker JAKA.

Teradyne Robotics owns Universal Robots based in Odense, Denmark. The company claims JAKA infringed on hardware and software patents. These patents relate to collaborative industrial robots marketed across the European Union. Teradyne Robotics Group president Jean-Pierre Hathout stated the firm will enforce its rights. He said they will safeguard technology against illegal copying.

This is Teradyne's second European intellectual property case in 2026. An earlier case in Germany involved software copyright infringement. The Copenhagen court ruling could affect 17 participating EU Member States. The case also includes countries like the United Kingdom and Spain.
