/ DANGDI / DANGDI / DANGDI /Denmark will remain part of the Schengen area despite recent political debate.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen says leaving Schengen would harm Denmark.
She spoke after a proposal from the Danish People's Party.
The party wanted Denmark to withdraw from the border-free zone.
They pointed to recent migrant pressure in the Spanish enclave Ceuta.
Frederiksen said she is open to suspending Schengen rules temporarily.
However, she warned that leaving completely makes Denmark worse off.
A full exit would stop Denmark from returning rejected asylum seekers.
